in 2017, I went to Greece for a faculty seminar on climate change and migration. one of the things that stuck with me the most was when our instructor, climate researcher Dr. Benjamin Santer, relayed the story of his "debate" with Ted Cruz on national television earlier that year. Ben decided after that experience, he would never again take part in a debate that was not a debate at all. the vaccine "debate" seems familiar territory, and I think this is a great piece about when (and how) we debate vaccine science. it comes from an Epidemiologist and writer that I greatly admire—Dr. Katelyn Jetelina.
